Dying from being too happy

Slavador Dali once said "There are some days when I think I'm going to die from an overdose of satisfaction." Is it possible to die from being so overwhelmed with satisfaction.  Maybe it could trigger some kind of disorder where the chemical in the brain that is happiness is too abundant, so the brain would pump in too much of the opposite chemical causing health problems, depression, or suicide.  Or maybe a happy overload might happen, and the person would spontaneously combust.

MUSK DEER

The craziest looking deer ever is the musk deer.  Native to Russia, the musk deer could be one of the weirdest looking animals I have seen in a while.  I saw a show on this deer and apparently its musk is very sought after.  I heard that a person can get around 45,000 dollars for 2 pounds of its musk.  I dont even fully understand what musk is.

I work at a halloween haunting place in rural New Jersey.  My boss is about 50 years old and a very interesting person.  Last friday, I was talking to him at my section of the haunted trail and all of the sudden he dropped low to the ground and looked like he was about to pull some kind of karate move.  He spread his arms out, kept really low, and started walking towards the woods.  He looked not unlike a lion stalking its prey. I was startled because we where having a normal conversation and out of no where, he went into prowling mode.  I learned later that he thought he had heard someone in the woods and thought they might be trying to sneak into the place without paying.  I think he may have been a hitman or a spy of some sorts back in his younger days because he moved so stealthily, it even creeped me out and I was standing behind him.

I saw an interview with Omar Rodriguez-Lopez, who is in my opinion one of the greatest musicians of today.  He said that he doesnt think about his fans when he makes his music.  He doesnt care what his fans want to hear, he just makes what he is feeling.  That statement seems kind of bold and snobby at first glance, but after thinking about it for a while, it makes sense.  If you just played what people wanted to hear, you wouldnt be expressing yourself. You would be a dj.  To be an artist, a musician, you need to express yourself by making something that is genuinely you and not something that is what you think other people want to hear.  Regardless of wether your music is good or bad or if your fans like it or not, your music is yours and it expresses you.  This whole concept doesnt apply to just music, but also writing, painting, or any other form of art.

Rolling Stone magazine puts out a hot list every year.  They include trends, people, music, and alot of other things that they thing are what is happening now or what will be happening soon.   Things like fixed gear bycicles and Daft Punk are on this list.  It seems that each year, cool is going more and more vintage.  Vintage is so sought after today, and I am not quite sure why, but even star's music tastes and inspirations seem to be travelling backward in time through the 80s, 70s, 60s, and 50s.  Today's popular culture is not on the same page as today's technology.  Its cool though.
